SPAGHETTI CARBONARA

This quick and easy spaghetti carbonara is anything but boring. Creamy pasta, crispy bacon, and tender chicken tossed with peas and parmesan cheese. It doesn't get any better than that! I saw the original recipe on TikTok, so I absolutely had to try it and give it my own original twist.
INGREDIENTS:
8 oz spaghetti
1 cup diced chicken breast, cooked
1/2 cup sour cream
6 bacon slices
1 cup frozen sweet peas
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp lemon pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Cook pasta until al dente, reserve about 1/2 cup pasta water, drain pasta, and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Chop up your bacon and add to the skillet.
Once bacon is almost cooked, add minced garlic, seasonings, frozen peas, and milk. Whisk until combined.
Pour in pasta water and whisk some more.
Add sour cream and parmesan cheese, stir until thickened.
Add in chicken (you can cook it prior however you prefer, or even omit!) and toss in the spaghetti. Season with salt and pepper to taste!
I also like to squeeze a little lemon juice on top, with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and fresh basil!
